Recent Research Experience:
My Master’s research was in the field of Kinesiology with a focus on neural control of movement. My thesis investigated postural control and balance in healthy populations.

Current Research:
My doctoral research will investigate the link between neuroplasticity and the outcomes of motor learning based lower limb interventions for children and youth with Cerebral Palsy.

Why Faculty of Medicine?
The opportunity to train with leading edge researchers drew me to the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute in the Faculty of Medicine. I have benefited from the strong relationships between the Faculty of Medicine and the research hospitals in Toronto, as my doctoral research setting is at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. This provides a unique opportunity to learn from not only scientists, but clients, families and clinicians.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Plans:
I chose to pursue a PhD to achieve my overall career goal of becoming a clinician scientist in paediatric rehabilitation research. Following my PhD, I will seek postdoctoral positions to further develop my training to better contribute to the advancement of care for children with movement disorders.
