Molly Scott, Physical Therapy

Student’s Name: Molly Scott
Country of Origin: Canada
Pre-MSc/PhD Education: BSc in Honours Kinesiology, Queen’s University

Recent Research Experience:
Due to the organization of my professional degree, I have not participated in a large amount of formal research as of yet; however I have contributed to an informal literature review of interstitial lung disease and its implication on physical therapy.

Current Research
In the coming months the MScPT research project opportunities will be released and I am very much looking forward to participating in this research.

Why Faculty of Medicine?
The Faculty of Medicine provides a multitude of opportunities to explore all avenues of my profession. It promotes interprofessional education which is very valuable, as collaboration with our fellow health care professionals allows me, as a clinician to provide the best quality of care for my patient. Additionally, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto has academic relations with numerous hospitals and clinics in the city thus allowing me to gain experience in the form of clinical placements at a large variety of insitutions.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals
Following graduation I plan to join the College of Physiotherapists as a full time member and begin practicing physiotherapy. I currently do not know in which area of physiotherapy I would like to practice as I find all areas very interesting. As I continue forward in my career, I plan to participate in research that will further inform practice.
