Why Faculty of Medicine?
As an aspiring health care professional, it was important for me to begin learning early on about the different factors that influence our health and development. My education in the Department of Nutritional Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine has taught me about exercise science, food, wellness, and community nutrition. It has also allowed me to appreciate the social and physiological factors related to food choices as well as explore how health can be improved through nutrition research.

Why this Department?
Health and wellness have always been topics I've really enjoyed learning about. As such, I chose Nutritional Sciences because it largely focuses on health issues and dietary concerns surrounding medicine and food.

Current Research Experience:
My current research project at SickKids over the past year has aimed to investigate the use of limited ultrasounds on pediatric patients who present to the emergency department with suspected appendicitis.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals:
My goal is to implement my education in Nutritional Sciences within the dental field. Many studies have shown that a balanced and nutritious diet plays an essential role in maintaining dental health. As an aspiring dentist, I aim to implement a wholesome methodology by combining my knowledge in education, health, and nutrition to help improve the quality of life and well-being of my future patients.
