Current Research:
I am pursuing my master’s in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. My research project involves understanding the process of personal recovery from the perspectives of individuals with acute psychosis and severe and persistent mental illness at CAMH’s Partial Hospitalization Program. Mental illness is prevalent in the Canadian population and I appreciate the unique role that occupational therapists can play in enabling individuals with mental illness to live independent and meaningful lives.

Why Faculty of Medicine?
I have chosen to pursue my studies in the Faculty of Medicine because of its world renown reputation in education and research. In the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science within the Faculty of Medicine, I have been privileged to learn from leading experts in these fields. The Faculty of Medicine has also enabled me to network with Toronto’s teaching and research hospitals, providing me with invaluable access to learning resources and opportunities to learn from high caliber occupational therapists. The Faculty of Medicine has provided me with the foundation for a promising career in occupational therapy.

Future Education Plans and/ or Career Goals:
I am interested in working as an occupational therapist in the fields of neurorehabilitation (acquired brain injuries), developmental disabilities and mental health. I envision myself continuing education with the latest interventions and therapies, to provide utmost care to my patients.
