Why Temerty Faculty of Medicine:
It was evident during my undergraduate degree that the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine was among those at the forefront of medical research, consistently pushing the boundaries of what we currently know. It was the continuous collaborations among the best hospitals in Canada and worldwide, along with its internationally recognized department, that made the decision clear for me to pursue my MSc studies at this faculty.

Why this Department:
It was initially difficult for me to choose between the numerous departments the Temerty Faculty of Medicine had to offer. However, after taking my first “Intro to Physiology” course, I was engrossed in the breadth of knowledge and current applicability the field of Physiology involves with, including my interests in cardiovascular disease and cancer research. It was this, along with the recognizable and sociable professors and graduate students from the physiology courses I have taken, that helped me determine that the Department of Physiology was right for me.

Current Research Experience:
Currently, I am studying the mechanisms of cell rupture induced by chemotherapeutics for hematological cancers, along with the development of pulmonary fibrosis, in Dr. Neil Goldenberg’s lab at SickKids’ PGCRL Facility.

Future Education Plans and/or Career Goals:
Following my graduate education, I plan to pursue academic opportunities where my research applies, particularly within the field of Medicine.
